Wow!! I can't believe we got that round in! Today was supposed to be ugly. Hurricane Earl didn't stop play for very long like expected. Only one short delay, so we were able to finish Round 1. We started off before the delay with a bogey. After the delay we jumped right back out playing good, aggressive golf making 3 birdies and an eagle to make the turn at 4-under which is exactly where we finished after closing with a birdie.

Anthony Kim fighting for his Ryder Cup life shot a solid round of 3 under 68. He made 4 straight birdies before closing with a bogey.  Bo Van Pelt struggled to get anything going.  He made just 1 birdie to go with 17 pars. Bo needs a few good days to catch the eye of Captain Corey Pavin. Other Ryder Cup pick hopefuls had excellent days. Zach Johnson shot 8-under 63, Ryan Palmer shot 7-under 64; Ryan Moore 7-under 64; veteran US team member Stewart Cink shot 3-under 68.

But the player everyone is watching is Tiger Woods. He is looking for a spot on the team as well. Tiger struggled today shooting 1-over 72, but don't count him out.  He's been working hard with new instructor Sean Foley and he's starting to really hit the ball solidly. So there's plenty of good drama ahead. Keep tuning in.
